What is a pulse? How does peristaltic pump reduce pulsation?

2022-06-02

Peristaltic Pump is a new type of industrial pump. In more and more industries, more and more peristaltic pumps are used in liquid transmission. Here chuangrui will share with you what is the pulsation in the peristaltic pump? Why reduce the pulse?

What is a pulse?

Because the peristaltic pump transmits fluid by alternately squeezing and releasing the flexible hose through the rotor, the flow transmitted will flow out in a stream, and the phenomenon of this transmitted liquid is pulsation.

How do you reduce pulsation?

1, replace the soft tube

In the case of satisfying the flow transmission, you can choose a thinner hose, and the pulsation will be smaller.

2. Increase the number of rollers

Since the pulsation is caused by the rotors pressing against the hose, increasing the number of rotors is sufficient and the pulsation is already low with, say, 10 rotors running the pump head. However, it should be noted that as the rotor becomes more, the flow will become lower.

3. Y-type hose conveying

Part of the pump head can be fitted with two hoses, which can be squeezed by cross during operation. The pulsation generated by the two tubes can be complementary to reduce pulsation effectively.

4. External pulse damper
